In order to develop themselves professionally, salespeople obviously want to focus on areas of their performance that can be improved. The most critical part of a salesperson’s day is when they are selling, face to face with customers and prospects. It is very difficult for salespeople to be objective about this area of their performance and ability as they are usually concentrating too hard on what is going on in the call.

Frequently the only measure of their sales abilities that they have available to them is whether the objective for the sales call was met; and because salespeople often don’t set themselves formal objectives for their sales calls (although they should), sometimes even this simple measure is denied them. To be of real value, salespeople need more granular measures, so that they can focus on specific areas of their sales skills.

The Sales Call Effectiveness Review is a simple, easy to use tool that directs the sales person’s attention to these critical areas and becomes the centrepiece for both salesperson and observer to use as a tool to help the salesperson improve the success ratio of their face to face sales calls. The Sales Call Effectiveness Review should be used every time someone accompanies a salesperson in a face-to-face situation with a customer or prospect. In this way the salesperson can build up a long-term record of their critical selling techniques, skills and abilities and, demonstrate to themselves progress in the areas that they feel could be improved.
